More than 300 caves are reported from southwestern Illinois, with 75% of the caves occurring in Monroe County. This presentation will examine the biology, geology and the history of important caves in our area including Illinois Caverns, Fogelpole Cave and Stemler Cave. The presentation will be held at the History Museum of Monroe County in the Allscheid-Metzger Gallery located at 724 Elaine Drive, Waterloo, IL.
