2022 Southern Illinois Easter Egg Hunts for Kids and Adults

Easter season is upon us, and for the next couple of weeks there are several events for children and adults alike. We’re talking everything from flashlight-themed egg hunts for adults, to Easter scrambles for the kiddos. Everybody’s favorite springtime bunny will also be making time for photo ops and breakfast during a few of these gatherings. So, if you like to celebrate extravaganza style, spend the next few weeks by hitting up a handful of these fun events!

Easter Egg Hunt at Green Mount Road Harley-Davidson in O’Fallon
If you have some family members who are really into motorcycles, the Easter Egg Hunt at Green Mount Road Harley-Davidson is right up your alley. On Saturday, April 9th kids can hunt for prize filled eggs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there will be free food and drinks!

Gateway Grizzlies Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The Gateway Grizzlies annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 16th at GCS Credit Union Ballpark! Admission to the event is FREE. Registration will begin at 9 a.m, with the egg hunt kicking off around 9:30 a.m. Expect the Easter Bunny, Izzy the Grizzlie, Lizzy the Polar Bear and many more interactive activities! The Grizzlies invite ALL families in the local area to this great event. Below are the age groups:

1-2 year: 9:30-9:45 a.m.
3-4 year: 9:45-10 a.m.
5-6 year: 10-10:15 a.m.
7-8 year: 10:15-10:30 a.m.
9-10 year: 10:30-10:45 a.m.
11-12 year: 10:45-11 a.m.
Season Ticket Holders: 11-11:15 a.m.

Although there isn’t any fruit available to pick right now, a trip to Eckert’s is always fun. Whether you’re grabbing some grub at their restaurant or picking up some goodies from their Country Store. Another reason to make a trip right now, is for their Easter Egg-Citement which is set for April 9, 10, 15 and 16th. Enjoy Eckert’s Annual Egg Hunt, animals for petting, tractor ride around the farm, plant a seed to take home, ice a cookie, duck pond, gift from the bunny, and a free photo scene with the Easter Bunny. Join in on the fun & continue making memories at the farm.

Rotten Easter Egg Hunt – Columbia 
The folks at Stumpy’s Distillery in Columbia are hosting their Rotten Easter Egg Hunt, which is adults only! From 6:30-10 p.m. on Friday, April 22nd you can hunt in the dark for eggs filled with deals, prizes and CASH! Purchase tickets at mymainstreetcolumbia.com. You must be 21+ to participate. There will be food trucks on site, with special drinks available for purchase from Stumpy’s Distillery. Bring a flashlight and a basket or bag! 

Small Business Easter Egg Hunt in Casey
Head to Casey, not just for their BIG THINGS – but also for their Small Business Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During this event each participating downtown business will have five Easter eggs hidden inside their store with various prizes filled in their eggs, as well as one golden egg hidden outside downtown with a BIG prize. Once you’ve found an egg, please take it up to that store’s register to redeem your prize. There is a limit of one egg per customer. Wildflour Bakery & Candy Co. eggs will be filled with discounts, freebies, and gift cards.

Flashlight Dash - Adult Egg Hunt in Shiloh
Light up the night in Shiloh during their Flashlight Dash on Friday, April 8th starting at 6 p.m. Grab your basket and friends for an evening of fun and prizes. You must be at least 21 years old to attend. The event is a BYOB and a variety of food trucks will be parked for made to order food to purchase. Bring your own beverages, basket and barrels (so you can carry home all your prizes)! Registration for tickets is now open. 

Adult Night Light Egg Hunt – Charleston 
There are two events happening in Charleston this month, one just for children and the other is aimed at adults. The Adult Night Light Egg Hunt is on Friday, April 8th from 8-9 p.m. in Morton Park. Admission is $10, and you better bring a flashlight as well as your own basket. The Kids Easter Egg Scramble  is set for Saturday, April 9th from 9-10 a.m. in Morton Park. Admission is free, and kids of the ages from 1 to 10 are welcome! 

Easter Egg-Stravaganza – Belleville
Head out to Bellevue Park in Belleville and join the fun on Saturday, April 9th at 10 a.m.! The eggs collected will be turned in for prizes. Take your picture with the Easter Bunny who will be hopping around the event. The Hunt will include snacks and refreshments. The appropriate ages for this event are children up to 8 years old. The Hunt will be separated by age groups. One grand prize basket, per age group, will be awarded to the lucky winner of the magic egg! 

Free Easter Baskets and Photos with Easter Bunny – Vandalia 
Downtown Vandalia is going to be another popular place for kiddos on Saturday, April 9th as they host pictures with the Easter Bunny! It will take place right next to City Hall, and goes from 1-3 p.m. The first 70 kids in line will receive a FREE Easter basket, and all children will receive a FREE photo with the Easter Bunny. 

Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt – Du Quoin
The Du Quoin State Fairgrounds will host the Jaycee’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16th from 10 a.m. to
3 p.m. It will take place at the Horse Arena, so be sure to put those kiddos in some rough and tumble clothes – and be sure to take lots of pictures! 

Nashville Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt
The Rensselaer Lions Club will hold its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 9 at Brookside Park in Nashville, Illinois. The hunt will begin at 1 p.m. for age groups 2 years old, 3-4 years old, 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old and 9-10 years old. The Easter bunny will also make an appearance! Donations of non-perishable food items for the food pantry will be taken on site also.

Easter Brunch at Hidden Lake Winery – Aviston 
If you’d rather not do the cooking on Easter Sunday, definitely check out Easter Brunch at Hidden Lake Winery in Aviston. They will have all the good stuff from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including an omelet station, a ham carving table, and a breakfast potato ‘action station.’ It’s all you can eat for $30 a person. There will also be cookie decorating for kids at no extra cost. Make sure to email them at events@hiddenlakewinery.com to schedule your reservation.
