Stumpy's Spirits located in Columbia, Illinois is a craft distillery making headlines for their amazing process and great products. Located on an 8th generation family farm, they are one of the few farm distilleries in the country that grows, harvests, and distills their grain as part of their production process for a true taste of the region.
Growing the Grain
Instead of outsourcing grain for the different products they offer, they grow it right out back. After the crop is ready they harvest, mill, and mash it in house. The next stage is the fermenting and distilling process where the crop is turned from grain into white or brown spirits depending on the number of times it is distilled.
Each product produced at Stumpy's come with a guarantee to be the highest quality spirit possible. From their crops to the limestone well water used, each one is taste tested for quality assurance. Instead of just offering one type of spirit, they have several types and flavors. The most popular is the Old Monroe Singel Barrel Select Bourbon Whiskey with the Unbroken Vodka being a close runner-up. As far as flavor variations for whiskey they offer Pecan Pie, Lemon Drop, and Honey. For vodka, they offer Apple and Peach seasonally as they source their fruit from Eckert's Farms in Belleville, Illinois.
