Attend concerts, dramas, musicals, comedies, movies and live performances in movie houses, theatres and drive-ins. Many of our renovated historic theatres have been here for generations and are the home of community theatre groups as well as movies and special events.
Several groups including Little Theater Players, Philharmonic Orchestra, Actors in Action and more use this venue for plays, performances, concerts, exhibits, and other events.
The Theatre is housed in what was originally the Greenville Steam Laundry, the Hygienic Ice Company, the Hygienic Dairy and the Ice Cream Company. Today, plays are performed for almost 3,000 patrons each year with a season of up to six plays. Now the sewing machines in the costume shop create colorful dresses, hats and capes rather than work gloves.
Many local and national performances are hosted here throughout the year.
The historic theatre features first-run movies, organ concerts, puppet shows, Broadway style musical performances and special events. Tours can be arranged by appointment.
This theater has been showing movies to the residents of Highland since the movie industry came of age. Prior to that, it was a live entertainment facility used for everything from plays to vaudeville shows. Recently renovated, they now show first run movies.
Up to 60 local children are cast in an adaptation of a favorite fairy tale, such as Princess & the Pea, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Pinnochio, Treasure Island. Two shows are performed each April.
This drive-in theater has been in seasonal operation since it opened in 1951. It is the last remaining original drive-in on Route 66 in Illinois. One of three Litchfield Route 66 Roadside Exhibits is located here.
The Bistro gives new meaning to the phrase dinner and a movie for patrons 21 years and up. Enjoy tableside service from the on-call wait staff, leather recliners and food & cocktail menus while seeing first-run movies.
