Come celebrate the German Heritage of Belleville, Illinois with the 38th Annual Belleville Oktoberfest. This event is scheduled for the weekend of September 21st and 22nd and is packed full of entertainment including carnival rides, a Kid’s Korner, a Poker Run on Saturday, a raffle, live music in the evenings, and plenty of food, beer, and fun for the whole family.
Usually waves of heat are generated by racecars at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison. However, from September 28 – 30, the heat will be served in cups and bowls at the International Chili Society (ICS) World Championship of Chili Cook-Off. The first cook-off was put together in 1967 in Terlingua, Texas, by Carroll Shelby and several of his friends. It grew from a “good old boys” friendly competition to an event that now awards the title “World Champion” and combined prize money of more than $100,000!
