Save the date and celebrate 30 years of Midwest Salute to the Arts on August 24-26th!
This year’s event will be a fun-filled weekend of everything art! From art demonstrations to live entertainment, Salute to the Arts brings you yet another memorable year for art lovers all around.
A little history behind the nationally recognized art show. Former alder, Gene Ellerbusch, visited an outdoor art festival in Connecticut and thought it would be a great idea for Fairview Heights to host and continued to explore the possibility. The city council approved of Mr. Ellerbusch’s idea, and the rest is history. On October 1st and 2nd of 1988, the first “Midwest Salute to the Masters” was held.
Over 70+ artists are featured in this year’s showcase ranging from photography, painting, glasswork, and more. Also, make sure to check out the Children’s Gallery and the Student Art Link Exhibit to support the youth and their work. For more seasoned art connoisseurs, become a Masterpiece Patron by purchasing your Masterpiece Money certificate supporting the artist of your choice. You do not want to miss out on this year’s celebration!
Salute kicks off at 6 pm on Friday, August 24th at Moody Park in Fairview Heights, IL. It’s also not too late to sign up to volunteer.
