The McKendree MetroRecPlex is a new, full-service, state-of-the-art sports complex. The complex offers two NHL-sized ice rinks, an aquatic center fit with a 10 lane championship swimming pool, a contemporary fitness area and many other amenities. Memberships and daily passes can be purchased for use of the facility and all its features.

CARD is a recreation district featuring six parks, Arlington Greens Golf Course, Splash City Water Park, The Jaycee Sports Complex, and Willoughby Heritage Farm.
Heard’s Pond was originally built to supply water for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad steam engines, and to provide ice in winter for cutting and shipping. Today, a paved pathway leads to a series of fishing sites as well as a pavilion and fire pits.
The museum houses photos and other artifacts detailing the history of the area. Open Monday through Friday 1 – 4 p.m. Second Floor of the McCoy Memorial Library.
The Park provides a boat ramp onto Lake McLeansboro, restroom facilities, and the Izaak Walton Log Cabin. The cabin, built by the local chapter of the Izaak Walton League in 1936, is currently undergoing restoration but will be available for social functions rental in Spring 2018.
The mural is located in the Post Office lobby, and was painted by American Artist Dorothea Mierisch. It commemorates the first official airmail flight that took place in McLeansboro September 26, 1912.
Bring the whole family for Fall Country Fun at the farm. Groups can reserve weekdays and evenings and the public is welcome on weekends. Animals, a corn maze, wonderful food, hayrides, play areas, bonfires and lots more make this a great place to visit. Open September and October.
The 58-acre park features a nature trail with two foot bridges, a meadow and a fishing pond. Primitive camping sites, a night sky observation station, and additional educational features are being developed.
Scenic and sought-after, the Big Red Barn offers a covered bridge, mill house and lake in a rustic, natural setting. Inside seating for 250 people and a dance floor of 650 square feet are available and open year-round for weddings, reunions, corporate, and family events.
Fish the 75-acre Dolan Lake (with 3 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 18 feet) for largemouth bass, bluegill, sunfish, crappie, channel catfish, and bullheads. Within the 1,683-acre Illinois state park are picnic areas with tables, outdoor stoves, and drinking water. Horseback and hiking trails as well as playground equipment are available, and a concession stand operates from April 1 to Oct. 31. Cabins and camping available.
Come out and pick your pumpkin and wander through the corn maze. Visit the main building where an assortment of items ranging from ornaments, baked goods, apple cider, jams, jellies, butter and honey are available.
