The McKendree MetroRecPlex is a new, full-service, state-of-the-art sports complex. The complex offers two NHL-sized ice rinks, an aquatic center fit with a 10 lane championship swimming pool, a contemporary fitness area and many other amenities. Memberships and daily passes can be purchased for use of the facility and all its features.

The Theatre is housed in what was originally the Greenville Steam Laundry, the Hygienic Ice Company, the Hygienic Dairy and the Ice Cream Company. Today, plays are performed for almost 3,000 patrons each year with a season of up to six plays. Now the sewing machines in the costume shop create colorful dresses, hats and capes rather than work gloves.
The 19th-century courthouse has a great view of the town’s hundreds of crab apple, red bud, and cherry trees in season. It is the centerpiece of the Square which is lined with shops, a theatre and restaurants.
Many local and national performances are hosted here throughout the year.
Students receive personalized skydiving instructions in a small airport setting. Groups and individual students are welcome for tandem and static line training every weekend.
The museum features a rather unique display. Bill Hanna, “The Humane Hangman,” is showcased with the tools of his trade from an era when criminal sentences were carried out on the gallows. Open by appointment and for special events.
