The McKendree MetroRecPlex is a new, full-service, state-of-the-art sports complex. The complex offers two NHL-sized ice rinks, an aquatic center fit with a 10 lane championship swimming pool, a contemporary fitness area and many other amenities. Memberships and daily passes can be purchased for use of the facility and all its features.

Two thousand original drawings, paintings and woodcuts by Roscoe Misselhorn, the Norman Rockwell of the Midwest, are displayed in the old GM&O depot. Much of the work is in black and white and depicts historic sites throughout the area.
More than 5,000 artifacts were moved from Vandalia, OH to a new building at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex. The collection chronicles the shooting careers and accomplishments of the greatest trap shooters in the history of the sport from the 19th century to the present. Open during all scheduled events or by appointment.
Large event building can be used for weddings, banquets or sports events. Smaller break-out rooms are available for meetings, bride’s rooms, etc.
At the largest American shooting facility in the country are 120 trap fields along a 3.5 mile shooting line. There are 24 skeet fields, archery, single action cowboy shooting, 1,000 campsites, fishing lakes, an events center, vendor mall and picnic shelters.
Fifty to sixty trucks carrying ATVs pull in every weekend to ride through the ten miles of trails, or race go-karts on the track.
This is the place for a trophy whitetail, duck and goose hunting, trophy turkey, bass fishing, or a corporate retreat. The Hunt Club has been offering outdoorsmen and women Illinois’ finest hunting and outdoor experience for over 17 years.
Memorabilia celebrating the city’s growth from a coal-mining town to the present make this an interesting stop. Monday:9am – 12pm, Wednesdays Noon-3pm, Friday: 10am-2pm or by appointment.
Within the Kaskaskia River State Fish & Wildlife Area, there’s excellent fishing and migratory bird watching for outdoor enthusiasts. A two-lane boat ramp, camping and picnic facilities are nearby.
Upland forest, savanna, hill prairie, limestone glade, limestone cliff and sink hole ponds. The area is rich in plants and animals species. From the south end of Fults, take Bluff.
