The McKendree MetroRecPlex is a new, full-service, state-of-the-art sports complex. The complex offers two NHL-sized ice rinks, an aquatic center fit with a 10 lane championship swimming pool, a contemporary fitness area and many other amenities. Memberships and daily passes can be purchased for use of the facility and all its features.

You can join one of many tournaments on the Air-ball fields, or if that’s not your style, try hunting down your buddies on one of our many woods-ball fields! Open play packages and parties are available, too.
The Preserve is an old growth forest remnant set in the sinkhole plain between Millstadt and Columbia. The Homer F. Stemler Memorial Walking Trail offers over 2 miles of hiking with 12 interpretive points.
Each bottle of vodka, whiskeys and bourbon begins with the grains grown on this 8th generation family farm. Add the water from the spring fed aquifer for a truly delicious farm to glass drink. The distillery is open for tastings and tours with seasonal hours. Tours last about thirty minutes. You must be 21 or older to taste – even to dip a finger in the brew – but children may tour if accompanied by an adult.
Tucked away on 45 wooded acres, the natural serenity at this facility provides opportunities for study, reflection and renewal. Six conference rooms and sleeping for 100-120 are available.
The City of Columbia has renovated historic Shoemaker School into a mulch-faceted facility that includes the Monroe County Welcome Center, the One Room School Commemorative Plaza and the Shoemaker School Museum, which partially recreates the building’s use in the mid-19th century. Wed.-Sat. 9a.m. – 4 p.m., Sun. 12:30p.m. – 4p.m.
