Find Time to Wine, Wine

“Find Time to Wine” is continuing with Berryville Vineyards in Claremont, IL. Stop by any Saturday from noon to 5pm to try some of their delicious varieties of wine. The winery is located only 40 minutes from Vincennes, Indiana and a little over an hour from Effingham, Illinois.

After his high school graduation, he went on to pursue a degree in business and right before his college graduation, he decided to plat a vineyard. Immediately upon obtaining his degree, he devoted himself full time to nurturing his vines. He knew what he wanted and did everything in his power to make it happen. After making wine out of the first few crops, the awards started pouring in including the Best of Class at the Illinois State Fair Wine Competition for the Dry Red (Cynthiana).

Other types of wine include the Proprietor’s Reserve (dry white), Sunlight (semi-sweet white), and White Squirrel (semi-sweet white) named after the famous creatures that call the area home. They also have several fruit fusions including blackberry, strawberry, and cherry. No automatic alt text available.

Each year Berryville Vineyards puts on their annual Harvestfest. This event includes live music, hayrides, wine tasting and the release of the new vintage. This is an event for the whole family including a corn maze, balloon animals and more just for the kids.

Although their season is only April through December, there are several local places that you can pick up a bottle or two. Whether you are planning a day trip or a weekend excursion to Harvestfest, Berryville Vineyards is a great stop for any wine enthusiast. Remember, wherever your travels take you, make sure you always find a little time to wine.
