Is Mom a baseball fanatic? Gateway Grizzlies opening weekend is this weekend and Lee Smith will be at the Opening Night game on May 10th. Start off the season with a Meet-and-Greet with Smith and pregame food and beverage for one affordable price. Visit Gateway Grizzlies website for more information. Race on over to World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway for their two-day high-octane throwback party, the 6th Annual St. Louis Nostalgia Rendezvous. The party starts with Nostalgia Drag Racing at 4 pm on Friday, May 10. More entertainment is set the following day with additional drag racing, a car cruise live music from bands like The Royal Hounds, and TV star Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster, “The Munsters”) will also be at the park! Cruise in from Hwy 55 in Litchfield on May 10th, race downhill in McLeansboro at their Downhill Derby, or visit Lebanon‘s Classic Car Cruise on Brick Street.
Pamper Mom with a little Jazz and wine at Hidden Lake’s Jazz Festival on May 11th in Aviston. Admission is free to just enjoy music by The Kevin Mitchell 4 Band but purchasing wine baskets are available for sale. Be registration is available at Hidden Lake’s website. Need something sweet? Bring Mom and family to Eckert’s Country Store and Farms for their Strawberry Festival. Enjoy festival foods and live entertainment on the farm and make memories. Take a ride down Route 15 to spend some time bowling at Bel-Air and St. Clair Bowl, catch a flick at The Edge, have a glass at The Weingarten, and share a pretzel at Hofbräuhaus.
Get out in the open air with Mom with our various farmer’s and flea markets. Come enjoy fresh home-grown fruits, vegetables, meats, jams, art at Old Town’s Farmer Market in Downtown Belleville, spend your Saturday in Flora at their Farmer’s Market, or scope out handmade gifts and artisan items at the Vine Street Market at the O’Fallon Station.
