ILLINOISouth Tourism covers more ground than any other Convention and Visitor’s Bureau in the State of Illinois. We represent 22 counties stretching from the Mississippi River east of St. Louis, MO to the Wabash River west of Vincennes, IN. We are both rural and urban, allowing guests to enjoy big city life and simple, country treasures – all at once!

Visitors come to our region for family friendly attractions, historic sites and outdoor recreational opportunities as well as the 900 yearly events we are home to. While you’re here, be sure to stay in one of our many hotels, lodges or quaint B&Bs. Visit the attractions, check out the shopping destinations, cozy wineries and great local cuisine. Southern Illinois has some of the World’s Largest attractions. In Casey, Illinois you can visit the Worlds Largest Rocking Chair, Wind Chime, Golf Tee, Pitchfork, Wooden Shoes, and Mailbox. Cahokia Mounds has been recognized as one of the must-see places for history lovers. Did you know Cahokia was once bigger than London! Great history isn’t just located in Cahokia, but all over the Southern Illinois area. There’s also beautiful lakes to visit throughout the region.
