History of the Home and Owners
The Tibbetts House was built in 1914 by Dr. Moses Tibbetts. In recent years it was home to The Chocolate Affair. After that business moved closer to the square, Brett and Mindy Casto bought the home to create an experience like no other.
Mindy is a member of the US Air Force. When not meeting and greeting her guests she works in communications at Scott Air Force Base. Her husband, Brett, is a science-fiction, fantasy writer with dreams of expanding the bookstore to include games. The couple met while both serving in Afghanistan. Mindy’s assignment is what brought them to the area, but the couple has said it is the community that makes them want to stay.
