If you are looking for fun and to find some adventure you have to check out American Obstacle in Kinmundy, IL. We went out to check out everything they have to offer and we were not disappointed!

Lisa, the owner, was excited to show off the wonderful facility her and her husband started. Both former Marines, they love outdoors and adventure and it sure shows at every inch of American Obstacle. They decided on this business venture during a trip to Branson, MO where they zip lined, loving the rush, and wanted to bring it back to Southern Illinois.

The first thing we did upon arriving was suiting up. After we got into the safety harnesses the first stop of the tour is the rock climbing wall. This wall is 40ft up in the air and allows visitors to race their opponent. After climbing to the top you get ready for your first zip line. After three zip lines at Creek Bottom Run, we were ready to take on the water for the Lake Zip. We kayaked across the lake to enjoy three more zip lines and then kayaked back for our last activity. The outdoor tactical laser tag area is 3 acres filled with paths, bunkers, and forts for guests to try to beat their opponent. They have multiple games that can be played.

The day was full of adventure that we won’t forget. This is something out of the box to bring the family out to. Guests must be at least 55 pounds to participate on the zip lines. For more information about the zip lines, please click here.

We ended the day with lunch at the Loading Dock Bar and Grill in Farina before heading to Vandalia.
