  • Lincoln Historic Plaque

    Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas both spoke here during their historic U.S. Senate race in 1858. The site, once a grove of trees, is marked with a stone plaque.

  • Kingsbury Nature Preserve

    Park has 80 acres of natural habitat along Governor Bond Lake with five miles of horseback riding (north side) and walking trails. Open daily, sunrise to sunset.

    Formerly a private residence, this is now home to an extensive collection of Civil War and WWI memorabilia, Indian artifacts, domestic arts and items from local manufacturers.
